The village

Zaros by farZaros is a picturesque traditional village, 45 km from Heraklion at the plain of Psiloritis Mountain, featured with natural springs and a small lake.

The village has rich historical past as the roman aqueduct, the traditional alleys with ancient architectural and the churches' adorns. The village is famous for the beautiful lake as well as for the local vivarium where you can enjoy the taste of fresh trouts. Furthermore, we recommend you to visit cafe-tavern "Vegera" at the center of the village, where you can taste traditional cretan cuisine with home made wine and raki.
